Our Secretary Says

“True development begins when no one is left behind — not the child with a disability, not the tribal mother, not the youth in a forgotten village.”

With deep humility and a heart full of purpose, I welcome you to the digital platform of BASK Banjari, a space that carries the stories, aspirations, and struggles of the many lives we work with across Odisha.

For over 2 years, our journey has been one of quiet determination — to uplift children with visual and hearing impairments, to reach tribal communities in hard-to-reach areas, and to serve with sincerity and accountability, even in the absence of consistent funding.

Our Residential Special School

One of my most cherished responsibilities has been nurturing our Residential Special School for VI and HI children — a safe, inclusive, and empowering learning space. We are committed to making our children tech-savvy and digitally literate, introducing Braille-enabled AI tools like the ANNIE Machine to help them confidently navigate a digital world.

Nutrition as a Foundation of Dignity

In the coming years, our focus is to expand nutritious food provisions for every child we serve, reducing malnutrition and supporting both cognitive and physical well-being.

Expanding Our Vision in Nuapada

In the aspirational and tribal-dominated blocks of Sunabeda and Boden in Nuapada district, we are expanding work on:

  • Sustainable tribal livelihoods rooted in indigenous practices
  • Climate-centric natural resource management
  • Health and Reproductive Child Health (RCH) for PVTG women
  • Skill development initiatives for rural youth
  • Youth-led climate action and environmental stewardship

Guided by Inclusion and Empowerment

Each project reflects our core principle: empowerment through inclusion. Especially in Nuapada’s aspirational blocks, where deprivation meets potential, every effort can be life-changing.

A Personal Commitment

As Secretary, I see myself as a facilitator — someone grounded in field realities, working alongside children, families, and leaders. I deeply thank our supporters, partners, and kindred spirits. Let’s continue building a society where ability is celebrated, resources are shared, and every human being has a fair chance to thrive.

With sincere gratitude and resolve

Mr.Ashok Ku. Panigrahi
           Secretary
