The target population of the organization lies in the Nuapada district of Orissa, where there is a very high poverty rate. The operational district is socially and economically under-developed and many families live much below the poverty line. Most of the target group families work as laborers which barely allow them to survive on a day to day basis. Children are often required to work in order to supplement the income for the household. BASK aims to bring hope to many such parentless, underprivileged and disabled children of these families and aid in improving the overall socio-economic condition that presently prevails in these communities.
